How to introduce the activity to your child?

How to introduce the activity to your child?

Balls are must-have toys and the benefits of playing with balls are immense. You can introduce them to your baby very early on because they immediately strengthen motor skills and familiarize little ones with their environment.

Early on, babies gravitate toward things that roll. Your infant will be fascinated by a ball’s continuous movement. Balls allow children to feel in control of something other than their own movements.

Rolling a ball back and forth is also a way to build a social bond between two people (you and your baby, or your baby and a sibling or playmate). This turn-taking game is also an introduction to the concept of cause and effect.

Toddlers will enjoy discovering a ball’s abilities and the different effects of bouncing, rolling, tossing, and kicking it.

A ball will remain an entertaining toy as your child transitions from independent play and parallel play to collaborative play, which is vital in developing social skills, such as learning how to share, how to follow rules, and how to negotiate.

The varying textures of these baby learning toys grab their attention and help develop their sense of touch.

Contrasting colors and diverse patterns aid baby’s brain development.

The gripping and squeezing of the tactile balls help develop your child’s fine motor skills.

Soft and textured material encourages baby to reach, bat, grab and enjoy sensory play.

Ball play helps develop sitting balance as your baby reaches forward or leans to the side to get the ball.

Judging distance and tracking (eye movements) are developed as they watch the ball move.

These crochet balls will help your baby learn colors and introduce early math skills.

Caring for Your Wooden Toys

Caring for Your Wooden Toys

Wooden toys are beautiful and durable. Toys made of natural materials bring your little one a little closer to the nature by nourishing the child’s senses.

Wood has natural anti-bacterial properties, so keeping them clean is simple and you can even get your kids involved in the process. Here are some tips that can come handy while taking care of the wooden toys –

  1. Wooden toys can be wiped with a dry cloth for daily maintenance and cleaning.
  2. No Soaking. Never submerge wooden toys in the water; to clean or otherwise. The wood can soak up the water which can gradually lead to cracks.
  3. Instead, a slightly damp cloth or sponge can be used to remove dirt or dust and then the toy should be air dried.
  4. While drying the toys, do not leave them in a direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the colors to fade and long exposure to the sunlight and air might damage the wood.
  5. Every once in a while, you may want to moisturize wooden toys when it starts to look dry or dull. Coconut oil or olive oil can be applied sparingly with a washcloth. Then let it dry.
Note

Note

  • Please ensure adult supervision at all times.
  • The outer fabric, which comes into direct contact with the baby’s skin, is natural and organic. The filler is polyester as this keeps the plush toy fluffy and in proper shape. As such, this toy must not be chewed, ripped, or put under repeated stress.
