In the Montessori Method, development of hand-eye coordination is very important for the way children play. This geometric puzzle set is designed to help infants and toddlers to develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination as well as improve their visual perception. They are also a great exercise for the figure-hand concept.

Recommended Age Period:

9 months and above.

How to introduce the activity to your child?

This is the perfect first puzzle set. Start as early as 9 months introducing one puzzle at a time: circle is easiest for baby. Then, once that is mastered, introduce the square, and then the triangle. As the child gains dexterity and the ability to discriminate between shapes, introduce multiple puzzles at once and let them discover which shape fits into which slot. The two circles give the child visual concept of small and large.

Make sure while presenting the activity to the child, your movements are done in a very calm manner and in slow motion, without explaining vocally. Give your child the space to explore and exercise as many times he/she wants but make sure to stay close and observe their actions.

What is included?

The puzzle set consists of a red square, a small blue circle, a large blue circle, and a yellow triangle where young children can learn shapes and primary colors. The individual shape puzzle set is great for beginners to work on one shape at a time.

What will my child learn?

The Geometric shape puzzle is a great hands-on learning tool for any learning environment.

This puzzle strengthens fine motor skills, hones grasping skills, and promotes problem solving skills.

These specialized geometry puzzles are a great help for children learning the basics of geometry – for primary school kids, or just for developing finger dexterity – for smaller kids. Their intelligence is challenged by the size of the shape and also encourages problem-solving skills when the item does not fit.

What is it made of?

The puzzles are made from Beech wood and Birchply. They are painted with non-toxic, water based child safe colors.

Please ensure adult supervision at all times.

Care Instructions

Wooden toys are beautiful and durable. Toys made of natural materials bring your little one a little closer to the nature by nourishing the child’s senses.

Wood has natural anti-bacterial properties, so keeping them clean is simple and you can even get your kids involved in the process. Here are some tips that can come handy while taking care of the wooden toys –

  1. Wooden toys can be wiped with a dry cloth for daily maintenance and cleaning.
  2. No Soaking. Never submerge wooden toys in the water; to clean or otherwise. The wood can soak up the water which can gradually lead to cracks.
  3. Instead, a slightly damp cloth or sponge can be used to remove dirt or dust and then the toy should be air dried.
  4. While drying the toys, do not leave them in a direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the colours to fade and long exposure to the sunlight and air might damage the wood.
  5. Every once in a while, you may want to moisturize wooden toys when it starts to look dry or dull. Coconut oil or olive oil can be applied sparingly with a washcloth. Then let it dry.
